This scheme was first started for male employees in 1891 but was extended to female employees in 1894. In 1946 this department started providing motor insurance to government vehicles of karnataka. In 1956 the department merged with LIC of India to make sure compulsory life insurance scheme for all government employees under section 118(c) of the Insurance Act 1938.  The Department also provides a family benefit fund scheme for the government employees.

Now if you are a new employee of Government of Karnataka then you have to enter all your details to get login on this page and apply for KGID policy. So lets see the login process for previous employees:

  • Visit Login Page – First visit the Login page of the Karnataka Government KGID Department.
  • Navigate to the Login Section – Now go to the Login section and check the New Insurer Login option among the three options. 
  • Enter Login Credentials – Now they will provide you two options for login. You can login through Mobile no or Email. Enter your details which you want mobile no or email.
  • Authenticate – Once your details are filled click on the authenticate button to proceed further.
  • Follow Guide – Once you click on the authenticate button you will be directed to the KGID Policy Page. You can follow this guide to apply for the policy.
